web interview

21 07 2008

I was recently interviewed for an article about lip magazine on the CareerChick website:

A Bit Of Lip
Are you sick of the typical women’s magazine articles promoting fad diets, new makeup trends and expensive “it” bags? Then Lip magazine might just be the read for you.

You know what its like, browse the magazine rack of your local newsagent and you’re likely to see the same recycled articles about how to get perfect skin in 10 days and how to detect whether your partner’s cheating by analysing his handwriting.

So if you’re keen for something different why not check out an alternative publication like Lip.

The website for lip magazine [www.lipmag.com] has just undergone another revamp. This new version allows the whole staff to participate in online discussion and updates.

the sex mook

7 09 2007

I wrote a haiku recently for an upcoming anthology – The Sex Mook. It’s just been confirmed that they’re going to include my little three-line contribution in the book. Sweet.

The book will be launched at a few places during September/October, most notably the Mega-Mega Launch at the National Young Writers Festival at Newcastle on 29-30 September. Incidently, Rachel from lip magazine and I will be there to hopefully launch issue 14, so I’m looking forward to grabbing my copy while I’m there.

The website I’ve been working on for Equinox Design and Visual FX is now live. Future updates will include a Press page and an image gallery.

Operation TROOPLIFT

31 07 2007

Operation TROOPLIFT: Postcards from Home is an anthology of short stories, poetry, photography and artwork compiled by members of the Department of Defence. It is a heartfelt gesture from Defence staff to their co-workers and family members deployed on operations overseas, as morale-booster for the troops and a thank you from those back in Australia.

As one soldier on deployment has told us: “we’d read the toilet paper if there was anything on it!”, it is a highly anticipated publication. I am honoured to be the designer of this book.

Phases One and Two: Submissions, Editing and Compilation has now been completed by the editorial team, and almost all the accompanying artwork has been received.
